Attentive moved AI Grow into general availability on Aug. 19, pitching it as an AI layer that decides, per visitor, when to show an email or SMS sign-up prompt rather than firing a fixed pop-up at everyone.
The math is straightforward. Beta brands posted a median 25 percent lift in sign-ups from existing traffic and a median 35 percent lift in welcome-series revenue. More owned contacts, more first-purchase dollars, no added ad spend.
The case studies do the rest of the work. Yankee Candle saw a 52 percent combined lift in SMS and email subscribers on first deployment, then a 20 percent welcome-conversion lift in a steady-state test. Clove reported 19 percent more subscribers and 48 percent more welcome revenue. MANSCAPED captured 2,167 opt-ins during a Super Bowl traffic surge, 5.4 times its prior-week daily average, exactly the scenario where a fixed rule set breaks.
MarTech’s Aug. 27 roundup described the mechanism plainly: AI Grow “triggers email or SMS subscription prompts at times tailored to each visitor’s likelihood of engagement.” Attentive says it tests continuously without manual A/B setup and feeds the same identity graph behind AI Journeys and AI Pro.
Eric Miao, the company’s chief strategy and chief product officer, framed it as a shift in where personalization begins. “AI gives us the opportunity to start personalization earlier — at the moment a shopper decides whether to begin a relationship with a brand,” he said, adding that AI Grow “brings that intelligence to the very first interaction, helping marketers turn more of the traffic they already have into valuable, long-term customer relationships.”
Deepthy Marunninal, senior manager of CRM at Yankee Candle, said the tool “helps us make smarter decisions faster, which is critical for a brand like ours managing a high volume of campaigns across channels,” and that “investing in personalization early doesn’t have to be super complex to be effective, but it does make a significant impact on engagement and performance.”
The timing is deliberate. Attentive’s July 2026 Consumer Pulse research found 83 percent of consumers begin holiday planning before Black Friday and 71 percent plan to start shopping before it. A subscriber acquired in late August compounds through BFCM; one acquired in November barely does.
