Google has finished rolling out its generative AI performance reports in Search Console to every website worldwide, closing a measurement blind spot that has quietly grown into one of the most consequential in web publishing. “As of August 31, 2026, we’ve rolled out these insights to all websites worldwide,” the company said in an update to its Search Central blog and Help documentation. The rollout began June 3 with a subset of UK sites and expanded outward from there.
The reports surface impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode, segmented by page, country, device, and date. Click data isn’t included, and per Search Engine Journal, properties without sufficient AI impressions may not see a report at all. Google says the data is exportable.
The scale explains the urgency. In its June announcement, Google disclosed that AI Overviews had surpassed 2.5 billion monthly active users and AI Mode had crossed one billion. Those are now the dominant discovery surfaces for a growing share of Google traffic, and until this week owners had no native way to see whether their pages were being cited inside them. That gap has been filled with an exportable baseline, which matters because it’s the first version of ground truth every site owner can pull from Google itself rather than infer from third parties.
The qualitative shift in AI-referred visitors makes that baseline more valuable, not less. Fewer clicks, higher intent, and now a report to tell you which pages are earning the impressions. It arrives alongside Google’s AI Max migration reshaping small-business search campaigns.
One structural note. The UK Competition and Markets Authority has set a March 2027 deadline for Google to introduce page-level opt-out controls. Measurement is arriving first; the right to refuse is arriving second.
