Salesforce unveiled AIforce at Dreamforce on September 15, an interface layer that pipes Customer 360, Data 360, and Agentforce workflows into Claude, Slack, and other AI surfaces so employees can update records and trigger business logic without opening the Salesforce app. Claudeforce and Slackforce are the first two skins; Google Cloud and AWS integrations are expected next.

The pitch to sellers is concrete. Salesforce in Claude shipped in beta with 37 prebuilt sales skills spanning prospecting to pipeline hygiene, and Patrick Stokes told investors up to 1,000 clients had signed up. Agentforce Coworker, which runs inside Lightning, hit 100,000 activated users in its first 35 days. Fulton Bank went “from zero to more than 20 use cases live in production, supporting approximately 3,000 users,” said Brandon Bernard.

Marc Benioff framed the architecture as governed and composable with zero data retention. Info-Tech’s Terra Higginson called it something else: it “moves it closer to what I would think of as ambient CRM,” though any of it “will still need clean, connected and governed data underneath.”

That caveat is the whole story for small B2B teams. The Dreamforce small business track cited Salesforce’s SMB Trends Report finding 88 percent of SMBs now engage with AI, 74 percent report strong returns, and 76 percent say their teams operate off the same CRM view. The offer: a 60-minute workshop to build a sales agent, “one agent doing one job well, without adding headcount or new software to learn.” The entry ticket is a Salesforce environment.

Investors got the other half. Robin Washington pointed to a cumulative $60 billion in buybacks, and Salesforce issued a fiscal 2030 target above $63 billion, ahead of the $59.2 billion LSEG consensus. CNBC reports customers now negotiate per-user, per-agent, consumption, and outcome-based terms in parallel.

The McKinsey pattern from earlier this month holds: AI revenue gains concentrate where the platform already sits. For founder-led B2B teams without one, done-for-you services like LemonLime, which onboards in under two minutes with no dashboard and no CRM required, fill the same job Salesforce just priced into its stack, similar to how Anthropic expanded Claude for Small Business. Ambient CRM is real. So is the tollbooth in front of it.
