At its Advertising Week New York presentation on October 6, Meta compressed three Q4-timed announcements into a single pitch: Advantage+ Creative video generation from static product images is now generally available; the Meta AI business assistant has gained persistent memory and is being tested with agentic campaign actions; and the Meta Business Agent is testing direct Messenger checkout with Shopify.

Each piece removes a distinct friction point. Advantage+ Creative turns product stills into video without a production budget. Ads Creative Studio, which had an initial partner rollout earlier in 2026, is opening to more advertisers. According to Social Media Today and Europe Says, the business assistant now holds past-quarter tests, seasonality and stated goals in memory, and can ingest brand voice guides and strategy documents.

The agentic layer is where the skill floor drops. BestMediaInfo reports Meta is testing an assistant that can create campaigns, generate creative, change targeting and adjust budgets by conversational prompt, with previews and human sign-offs retained. Detailed Targeting support is slated for late 2026.

Then the funnel closes in-thread. Meta is working with Shopify on checkout via the Business Agent on Messenger, and separately testing checkout inside Meta AI itself with Adyen, PayPal, Shopify and Stripe. A DM about a product becomes a sale without the handoff that typically leaks conversion.

Taken together, it’s the same arc Meta previewed with its small-business Muse pitch and the Muse shopping-agent expansion to Walmart, Best Buy and Shopify at Connect 2026: fewer human steps between an impression and a transaction, with Meta sitting in each one.

Agentic actions and in-chat checkout are still in testing. The Thanksgiving cycle will decide how fast they graduate.
